Okay 2 posts today cos I’m free!

Eric just sent me his pics and I’m so freakin amazed I need to share this.

Background story:

Eric has a long and protruding chin and for the LONGEST time, he’s been saying he wants to go for chin reduction surgery. Not sure if it’s the correct term but essentially they saw off your chin la. Very invasive. He also had really f**ked up teeth, and he’s been saving money for both the chin reduction surgery and braces.

He went to consult a dentist who does orthodontics but she said his case was too difficult and she couldn’t/didn’t have the confidence to do it, so referred him to another specialist.

At that point, I had started on my Invisalign with Dr Geraldine(read my post on it HERE). So I asked Eric to go see her cos she’s really damn pro with my case. And my case was complex cos my teeth were already straightened but not aligned symmetrically. Read my post la.

He went to see her and she said, “No problem. Straightforward case.” Yeah right haha. ONLY to her la cos she’s so good lol. She was nice enough to give him a slight discount plus knowing he’s still an NS boy, she was super flexible with his payments. Just told him to pay whatever was comfortable for him instead of asking for upfront payment or even a big deposit.

And Eric started on his braces journey with The Orthodontic Clinic.

Fast forward 3 months…

WHAT SORCERY IS THIS???

This is WITHOUT SURGERY leh. This collage totally looks like those Before/After plastic surgery pics right?? See how much his chin went in! Even his cheek seems less sunken in! And no I didn’t liquify these pics at all. (But I did edit his skin cos he had NO clue I would be posting about this FHL haha, he was all like, “Don’t post on IG ah!” Instagram is the land of perfect pics lol.)

Digression: Eric is also fairer now cos he started taking Lyco-White. But I’ll save this topic for another day.

I’m so utterly fascinated that braces can alter one’s face by SO much! I thought only surgery can change a person’s face shape. And get this, it’s only THREE months into his braces. He still has a long way to go. I’m really excited for him hahha. Can’t wait to see how it eventually turns out!

I’m also very happy cos he’s finally convinced not to go for the chin surgery, at least for now(he’s very vain! Like me haha). I don’t wanna talk publicly about what I’ve done, but let me just say a part of me regrets. Surgery is IRREVERSIBLE in most cases, and unless you’re 2000% sure this is what you want for the rest of this life, my advice is DON’T.

This is NOT an ad ah. As you can see, it’s Eric’s face lol not mine. I’m just sharing cos I’m so grateful to Dr G for saving my dear Eric from a very expensive and invasive op. And hopefully this post would help spread the word that surgery is not always the only answer. There are options. Educate yourselves and weigh out all the pros and cons. Whatever you decide, it’s not my place to judge. As long as you’re happy! Like Eric and me. :)
